This is my thirteeth Kickstarter campaign and there are very few risks in supporting my projects. I wait until the comic book has been fully illustrated and edited before I launch a campaign. All of my past projects have been successes. ALL rewards were delivered on time and the budget was met. I need these funds to cover printing and marketing costs. 

You Picked the Wrong Planet is the definitive edition of Jeff Carroll's epic Planet Alkebulan saga, collecting all four graphic novels together with the exclusive companion novelette Here Come the YaHoos. Long before civilization emerged on Earth, there was Planet Alkebulan—the first planet in the universe and the hidden birthplace of all life. Protected by a mystical Life Force Regulator, the planet creates new species and sends them across the cosmos to populate suitable worlds. But when the regulator is damaged, Alkebulan's concealed location is revealed, making it the most coveted prize in existence.

Standing between creation and annihilation are the planet's legendary guardians. Quhala, a master of the Life Force, wields enchanted arrows capable of draining the energy from any living being, while her partner Shabaka carries the mysterious Kem Sword, an ancient weapon whose full power has yet to be revealed. Together they battle savage lifeforms, rescue their captured king, restore the Life Force Regulator, and ultimately defend their world against the ruthless invasion of the Yahagus AKA The YaHoos, who seek to steal the sacred life fluid that sustains creation itself.

The collection also includes Here Come the YaHoos, an exciting bonus tale that expands the Hollaverse mythology and introduces readers to one of its most dangerous civilizations, setting the stage for future adventures throughout Jeff Carroll's interconnected universe.

Battle Space Hollaverse is a two- to three-player strategy board game of interstellar fleet combat. Players secretly deploy their fleets across a grid, then take turns calling out coordinates to locate and destroy enemy ships. Each successful strike reveals the enemy’s position and brings the player closer to victory. Players must use strategy, deduction, and careful fleet placement to protect their own ships while hunting down their opponents.

The objective is simple: locate, target, and destroy the enemy fleet before they destroy yours.

With its space-combat theme and connection to the Hollaverse, Battle Space Hollaverse transforms the classic hidden-fleet strategy concept into a cosmic battle between powerful space forces.

Why I Love Sci-Fi is an intimate, thought-provoking 75-minute documentary that explores the power, politics, and imagination of science fiction through the eyes of pioneering Black sci-fi creator and award-winning filmmaker Jeff Carroll.

Presented in an in-depth interview format, the film is guided by Nile Fortner, a respected multimedia journalist and founder of Las Olas Insider, known for his cultural reporting with the Sun-Sentinel, Miami New Times, and the Cinephellas podcast. Together, Fortner and Carroll dive deep into science fiction’s past, present, and future—unfiltered, unscripted, and unapologetic.

With a background in comedy, activism, and education, Carroll brings humor, honesty, and sharp insight to every question. A self-described political activist writer with roots in the Civil Rights movement, Carroll has coordinated justice marches with Rev. Al Sharpton and studied in Egypt and Ghana under legendary African scholars including Dr. Ben, Dr. Leonard Jeffries, and James Small. His lived experience informs his perspective on sci-fi as both escapism and resistance.

An entrepreneur since college, Carroll has represented major comedians such as Mo’Nique, Kevin Hart, Godfrey, and Michael Blackson. He recently taught 12th-grade English, using his minor in African History to teach Frankenstein and Beowulf through a culturally relevant lens. With over 25 years as a sci-fi and horror writer, six produced films, multiple comic books and novels, Why I Love Sci-Fi stands as both a personal manifesto and cultural critique.

What began as Greek letters used to engage Black audiences at an MLK march evolved into the now-iconic I Love Sci-Fi (Ψ Φ) brand—a symbol of Black imagination, futurism, and creative freedom.
